FAQ’s
Why did I decide to play the harp?
2006
When I was about 12 and between extracurricular activities my mom asked if I would be willing to give music another shot (piano at age 5 had a very short lived run). “This time you can pick any instrument you want…”
I sat down at our electronic keyboard and listened through all the orchestral instruments. I narrowed it down to the harp or the flute (which would turn out to haunt me as 9/10 times when I’m schlepping my harp someone asks, “Don’t you wish you played the flute?”) and as providence would have it, an excellent harp teacher lived 15 minutes from me.
At the end of my first lesson my teacher dazzled me with Tchaikovsky’s famous harp solo in Waltz of the Flowers, and a couple years later my first ensemble experience playing with the Denver Young Artist Orchestra convinced me that I wanted to keep pursuing music.
Where did I complete my education?
I completed both my Bachelor and Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY under the instruction of Professor Kathleen Bride.
Along the way I was granted a Performer’s Certificate* and won a concerto competition to perform the Tedesco Concerto with one of our graduate orchestras. I was privileged to be selected to join the the Eastman Wind Ensemble for two tours as well as their recording Images: Music of Jeff Tyzik.
I also met my husband in our freshman year at our small group / Bible study, found friendships I am grateful to still call close, and as soon as I could move off-campus found our little Maltese-Yorky-Poodle mix, Bingley, who has my whole heart but gives way more love back.

What other professional hats do I wear?
You can find examples of my photography work at The Imago Studio. I aim to create light-made reminders of dignity and beauty from providing professionals with headshots they love to capturing fleeting moments for families and high school seniors.
How else do I love to spend my time?
I’m a homebody at heart. I love increasing my skill in the culinary arts, reading from Sarah Clarkson’s excellent book recommendations in Book Girl, lively competition in almost any type of game, a morning cup of coffee and an evening cup of tea, stealing a week ever summer to camp and recharge among trees and campfires, trying not to murder my one surviving houseplant, and venturing into keeping a kitchen garden.
